Once you’ve understood what MacTest™ is about, it should be simple enough to use the product. The tip of MacTest™ has a unique nanotubule design that extracts DNA strands from your blood or urine sample. Theoretically any kind of body fluid will do the work, but this hasn’t been extensively tested. Note that there’s a result and a control window on the MacTest™. After a short wait of 5 minutes, the moment of truth has finally arrived, and the results are fairly easy to interpret.

Positive. You are a true Macedonian, a descendant of the royal dynasty of Macedon and an exemplary citizen of your Balkan nation-state. You could also be a prince(-ess) of Bactria if you could spot Bactria on the map. Your everyday misery is just an illusion, things will soon improve for you now that your ancestral splendour has come to light. Be an optimist, always look on the bright side of life.

Negative. You have a certain degree of sub-Saharan DNA admixture. Though the test is very sensitive and can detect admixture that has happened hundreds of generations ago, it is only qualitative and the degree of the admixture cannot be quantified. One thing is for sure, that you’ve failed the one-drop rule.
Comfort yourself with the thought that even the British royal family may not qualify for the one-drop rule. According to Arnaiz-Villena et al1 and Black Athena (the latter quoted by the former), your best chance to have some imperial background is to be related to the Ethiopian royal dynasty and the glorious Haile Selassie.

Invalid. You are a common mortal, totally devoid of imperial traits. Your possible awareness of this is a threat to your country’s definition of “national identity”.
Be warned. Claiming a personal/political/national identity as an invalid can be very harmful for you and the ones close to you. Reiterating the cliché that “you’re just being yourself” is just plain wrong, because your nation has invested a lot to prove just the opposite. Read your history lessons and repeat the test in the near future, so that you won’t have to be lobotomized.
